Made to measure tailoring has just been given a make over by Willie Renner and Nigel Salisbury,  the guys at William Young 1876.

For anyone who imagines dusty old geezers fussing around your waist line with half moon glasses and a mouth full of pins can think again. These boys make the whole procedure one of excitement, style and high expectation.

The first time I met Willie I was so struck by how sharp he looked within three weeks I was being measured up for a suit all of my own. Both he and Nigel share an expert eye for what will work on each individual customer while always taking the time to make sure the person being fitted has full input into what the end result will be.

They are welcoming, they know their stuff  and, above all, they are genuinely passionate about their craft. When my suit arrived I wasn't sure who was more excited, me or them! The simple truth is that through their attention to detail, commitment and expertise you are guaranteed to end up with a suit to die for.

The only problem I have now is that I want my whole wardrobe to be tailored by William Young 1876. Everything in there at the moment pales into a sorry mixture of saggy mediocrity and off the peg anonymity. The next time you are thinking of buying a suit treat yourself to something really special and go and see Willie and Nigel for a set of threads that will make you stand out from the crowd and make you feel like a million dollars for considerably less.
